Good turnout last night for the middle of August. Tie breaks all round for teams on joint first (30 pts), joint second (27) and joint second last (19).

And another lesson for quizmasters: don’t ask classicists questions about Roman Emperors without doing your homework thoroughly. That now joins parts of the Old Testament on the blacklist of topics never to be raised again.

And genuine commiserations to the Canadian contestant who came second in the beer round identifying the coats of arms of Canadian provinces/territories. But congratulations to said regions for containing such an impressive range of fauna and flora. We need an Animal Olympics with countries represented by native wildlife. No biting, gouging or tickling in the clinches allowed!
