Nearly there

Hi.

As we near the end of a frankly awful year my thoughts turn to friend Andy Billett who very sadly passed away in March and is much missed. Andy was a lovely guy who bore illness with huge dignity. He coached youngsters at Durham City Harriers for many years and as a member of our Elm Tree quiz team he always brought good humour, beer, armfuls of crisps and top quiz ability. That included an unsurpassed knowledge of athletics and capital cities, as well as lower league football derived from years supporting Aldershot Town. And that takes character. This week’s quiz is for Andy. I’d like to think it is one he would have enjoyed.

Next week will be a Christmas Special and there will be a 30 December quiz to finally see the year out.
