Mild controversy and a tense finish last night.
I’d like to think that an occasional degree of disputation is no bad thing and a sign of a healthy quiz. On that basis, all is well in the Elm Tree body politic.
So when you get to Round 4 question 4, please bear in mind that one definition of a word in the answer is “to trim off an outside, excess or irregular part of”. Just saying. You are entitled to your own view!
And when you get to Round 6 question 5, I have learned that there is a difference between an official US Grand Prix and a Grand Prix named after its host US city. In any event, they are equally tedious and noisy (I appreciate I appear to have been in a minority on this point).
All that said, the final scores were satisfyingly close and consecutive: 34,33,32,31,30. I would strongly encourage the teams to score that neatly every week.
And while I am waxing lyrical, many thanks to John Duffey for stepping in for me recently whilst I was away on holiday.
All the best
Frank
