A very busy night at the Elm Tree Quiz this week. Standing room only with twenty-one teams, including a last-minute entrance by a very entertaining Irish-German team. (Please give me my pen back!)
Tight finish with top scores of 30, 29, 28 and 26. Second-last prize was won with 17.
Apologies are due to the team whom I inadvertently diddled out of a Beer Round winning answer. In mitigation I was multi-tasking, dealing with our international contestants, and was confused by the suggestion that Luther Vandross was Peabo Bryson. (You had to be there.)
Also, it was a great night for inspired answers. Wrong, but inspired. If you do this week’s quiz and get to the Dachshunds round, here’s advance notice that Dennis the Dachshund and Larry the Lamb do not live in Ipswich, and that Waldi the Dachshund was not the first Holy Roman Emperor. Oh, how I wish he was.
All the best
